Keep Your Ticker in Shape. Practice Mindfulness

Daily habits are the key to keeping the most important muscle in your body — your heart — in great shape. By now you surely know (shout this fact from the mountaintops!) that following a plant-based, whole-food diet and staying active are helpful to maintaining a strong heart. But you may not know that stress reduction is also a factor. Being mindful — paying attention to your thoughts, emotions and physical sensations, without judgment — also leads to a healthier heart. Mindfulness can be learned through daily practices like meditation. Mindfulness leads to more time spent “in the zone” - fully engaged and firing on all cylinders (and who doesn’t want a life like that?).
