Sweat the small stuff.

According to a recent survey, small, simple behaviors that show someone you care beat out high-flying romance and verbal expressions of love for most Americans. Being compassionate, snuggling, really listening, paying attention, making dinner, asking questions, and other simple gestures make us feel seen, heard, and loved. But what if you really do love over-the-top romantic gestures, daily love sonnets, and the like? Everyone is different, so sit down with your partner and talk about what makes your respective hearts flutter. And if you and your sweetheart loves chocolate, make it the dark kind, don’t overdo it, and — here’s the best part — don’t limit it to Valentine’s Day!
